Re: Serif "Out of Business"? - 2004/11/03 19:46 Hi Martin

WP9 just closes about 5 seconds after I click publish. It will restart staight away and can pick up the document as of the last save.

PP10 does the same but displays a "report to Serif" dialog, I have tried to use it but it leads nowhere, but that might be down to the lack of Serif online at the moment.

I just resigned myself to ditch the graphics for now, and PP has just successfully published one of the documents.

thanks for your interest - Will

Re: Wills problem - 2004/11/04 06:34 Hmm.. I've been having the same thing in WP9, so it's not just you Will!
I've not been able to find a workaround to date, other than to bebuild in 9, in fact I found it easier to co back to 8 than fight it!
Rather hope that it's something the expected 'patch' will deal with.

Re: Wills problem - 2004/11/22 13:22 Hi
A few days ago I got a reply from Serif one of the PP10 error reports got through.

It seems that PP10 and WP9 have a problem publishing metafiles, they are confident of a fix in the first patch.

For now the suggested workaround is- save the matafiles as a picture (metafiles can be found using Tools>resource manager). I have been publishing the files since with the troublsome items on the paste board awaiting reinstatement.

It took many days for them to get back to me, but they did and I found the reply helpful and reassuring. Serif have been working for a week or so on another WP9 file of mine that the hyperlinks are becomeing missdirected or not publishing at all. One must assume that having asked for a file they don't just file it away but must be investigating, I find it gratifing that they are prepared to go to such lenths and I can see the much shouted about £50 "ripoff" would soon be swallowed up by such an approach.

Will.
